The pitch is: “the panelists would discuss the Crazy-Good and Crazy-Bad discoveries/research in science in the past year (there are always a few good new ones, and a few bad ones that never seem to die, like genetic screening/gene-doping of IV fertilized blastocysts for eugenic purposes, de-extincting dangerous animals — think Jurassic Park — and human head transplantation — I’m not joking, there is a University Hospital transplant surgery team in Italy that claims to have done it successfully (?) with test animals, has gotten ethical clearance (!) and is looking for a human subject!). This would cover both the science, the ethics and the plain old common sense issues of some of the bad ideas (or “mad science”)
