LoudMind Studios Comes to the Catskills Halloween Festival
Some vendors bring a table.
LoudMind Studios brings a whole vocabulary of ink.
They are a Carlisle studio built on tattoos, original art, flash designs, prints, and handmade pieces — the kind of work that looks like it was dared into existence. Bold lines. Handmade edges. Art that does not wait to be asked if it belongs at a Halloween market. It already does.
This October 23–25, LoudMind Studios will be on the grounds of the 13th Catskills Halloween Festival at the Blackthorne Resort in East Durham, New York. That is the same weekend as the oddities market, Massacre Mansion, the pub that stays too late, the live bands, the séances for the people who bought VIP, and the giant steampunk robot that has become, against all reason, a sort of mascot.
Admission is free.
Yes. Free.
We have been saying that for three years and people still whisper it like a rumor.
What this weekend actually is
It is a Halloween festival.
It is a steampunk festival.
It is an oddities expo.
It is a three-day excuse to walk around in the woods buying things that will alarm your relatives.
Friday opens around 3 p.m. and runs late.
Saturday is the long day: 10 a.m. into the night.
Sunday wraps around 6 p.m., which is always too early and always correct.
You can come for an afternoon.
You can stay the weekend. The second option is the one that makes sense. Call the resort at 518-634-2541 for rooms, camping, trailers, or the treehouse. Yes, the treehouse.
Why LoudMind belongs here
Catskills Halloween is not a mall with orange bunting. It is a field full of people who already decided that ordinary October was insufficient. They want flash sheets. They want prints that look like a warning. They want to leave with something that still has a pulse when they get it home.
LoudMind Studios works in that register. Tattoos and flash are already half ritual. A market like this is the other half: strangers, lanterns, cold air, and the quiet certainty that you came to be marked by the season even if you only buy a print.
Find their table. Look at the work. If you walk away empty-handed, that is your business. We will not be shocked if you don’t.
The rest of the grounds
Vendors in capped categories, so the market does not collapse into forty tables of the same necklace.
Live music that does not require you to pretend you are at a tasting.
A haunted house that is actually on the property.
Food that is allowed to be carnival food.
VIP tickets — limited — for Lady D’s séance and midnight séance, a badge, a $10 certificate good anywhere in the market, and the small political fact of having been in the room.

October 23–25.
Blackthorne Resort.
East Durham.
The leaves will be doing their job. Do yours. Show up.
The Autumn People will be easy to find.
We’ll be the ones standing still in front of a flash sheet, pretending we are only looking.
